Classes include “Managing your Money”, “Money Basics”, “Support for the Armed Forces”, “Handling Loss for Military Families”, “Saving for College”, “Debt Management” and “Job Readiness for Returning Warriors”.
“A home is a primary source of financial security,” said Rashi Kallur of Citi Community Development. “Promoting affordable and sustainable homeownership is key to stable neighborhoods and we are proud to work with Habitat for Humanity to turn the dream of homeownership into a reality.”
Habitat for Humanity Families will take these online courses as part of their “sweat equity” program to help prepare them for homeownership and a life in the middle class. After they have finished the online course, Citibank managers from local branches will come to the Habitat communities and answer any questions families may have pertaining to their specific financial needs. Through these courses families will learn how to save for college, manage their debt, and Habitat’s newest veteran families will get special training geared towards their specific needs.
